The paintings are inverted mirrors of each other. The colors and blends are also inversions of each other as are the shapes and background patterns. Both 'faces' (which is the same face inverted,) represent either negotiation or force.

The equation described the symmetry of atomic particle spins and thereby predicted the existence of antimatter, which was later proven. (If we are to eventually have a Star Trek like future, this is the doorway to it.)

Another of La Traille’s artworks that presents a noted equation, highlighting the aesthetic beauty of its symbols. The celebrated formula of Leonhard Euler, establishes a relationship between trigonometric functions and the complex exponential function, extending the range of functions beyond what is allowed under the real numbers, The formula can simplify equations involving rotations and has applications in electrical engineering. All from an 18th century Swiss mathematician.
